My First Python Assignment

One of my first memory in life is drinking “Sikwate” (Bisaya word for hot chocolate) and eating “Champorado”(chocolate porridge) for breakfast, lunch, dinner and even snacks. I remember the smell, the taste and the aroma of chocolate associated with the memories of my childhood. It never fails to make me hungry every time and crave going home.

Spoiler Alert: I am hungry writing this article.

Now I had found this dataset of Chocolate Bar from Kaggle (Hurray!). You may get the dataset here. And as part of my FTW (For the Women Foundation) assignment, I will be listing to a new data frame all the unique beans there is from this dataset using Spyder IDE. The steps is written below:

STEPS:

  1. Open Spyder App.
Open Spyder Application.

2. Change folder destination.

3. Import CSV file.

4. List Unique Bean types.

5.Create new Dataframe and list unique Bean types to the new Dataframe.

6. Print results of the new Dataframe listing the unique Bean types.

Result:

Unique Beans List

Unique Beans Dataframe

You maybe wondering why I would want to know the unique beans there is in the world. There are 2 reasons. First, I just love chocolate. Secondly, I grew up having a cacao tree in our backyard and had always dreamed of having my own trees in my own backyard someday. I would like to make my own tableya for my sikwate and champorado. Imagine, this is like having an Unlimited Supply of Free Chocolate. If I could plant all types of cacao trees in my backyard and have unlimited supply of chocolate, why not right?

For now my Python skills is just limited to this but who knows someday I can do data analysis to aid me from selecting, growing and nourishing cacao trees someday. Till that day comes I will keep learning, practicing, and hustling in learning data science. Maybe writing them here too! :)
